What is the Horn of Africa?

"Horn of Africa" is geographical term used to identify a portion of East Africa. The countries in the Horn of Africa are: Somalia, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Why the Horn of Africa?

The Horn of Africa became the land of hunger, war, famine, and disease in this century. Up to the present day, poverty and ignorance have continued to rise. The region is consistently plagued with ongoing wars, famine, disease, and natural disasters and these conditions are even further complicated with the rise of unstable governments, the lack of basic infrastructure, and widespread illiteracy.

Despite the many issues facing the region, it has received relatively little attention from the rest of the world.
